Afshin has spent 33 years in technology, working across both ends of the company-building spectrum—from co-founding a small startup in 1998 and seeing it through to a successful exit in 2000, to spending years at Google Cloud, Red Hat, and Sungard working with some of Canada's largest enterprise and public-sector organizations.
Starting with a degree in computer science and early roles in database analysis and systems engineering, his career has spanned technical architecture, IT service delivery, running 24×7 global support and pre-sales engineering teams, and leading enterprise cloud partnerships. Having seen technology from all sides—how it is positioned and sold, how it is implemented, and what it takes to support it day-to-day—he founded Aperis Technologies Inc. for the work he finds most rewarding: rolling up his sleeves with clients to apply technology and AI to real-world problems.
He enjoys the practical side of adoption—helping leaders cut through the noise, test ideas quickly, and put practical AI workflows to work on everyday challenges. Because he works directly with every client himself, there is no handoff between the person thinking through the business problem and the person advising on or working through the solution.
